Universal Technical Institute Inc. (NYSE: UTI), a provider of technical training, today announced the appointment of Rick Crain as senior vice president of marketing.
Mr. Crain, 50, who holds a bachelors degree in marketing from the University of Texas, has more than 27 years of marketing and management experience involving various lines of business and products for a variety of markets, including consumer, small business, enterprise and wholesale markets. Mr. Crain began his career with GTE Service Corp. in 1980. Over the course of his 21-year tenure at GTE, Mr. Crain held a number of management positions, most recently serving as vice president of marketing services where he was responsible for managing all aspects of the corporate marketing function. Subsequently, Mr. Crain was employed for three years by Verizon Communications Inc. where he served as vice president of channel marketing and vice president of marketing - small business. Prior to joining UTI, Mr. Crain was engaged as a private consultant for three years specializing in marketing, sales force effectiveness and organizational change.
